How Do I Turn On or Off Notifications?

Follow the instructions below for the device

Android Users

  1. Go to your phone 'Settings'.

  2. Select 'Apps'.

  3. Select 'Bacon'.

  4. Select 'Notifications.'

  5. Ensure that 'Show Notifications' is checked. 

  6. [GPS] Go to 'Settings'.

  7. Select 'Location' and make sure that 'Location Services' are switched ON (switch at top-right of screen).

  8. Go to 'Settings.'

  9. Select 'Apps.'

  10. Scroll down to Bacon and review the list of 'Permissions.' This list should include 'Precise location (GPS and network-based).'

iPhone Users

  1. Go to the phone 'Settings & Security.'

  2. Select 'Privacy.'

  3. Select 'Location Service' (make sure it is turned on).

  4. Scroll down to Bacon and if not already selected, select 'While Using App.'

  5. Go back to 'Settings.'

  6. Scroll to your apps at the bottom of the screen.

  7. Select 'Bacon.'

  8. Ensure 'Allow Notifications' is on, 'Show in Notification Center' is at least,' Recent Item,' and 'Sounds' 'Badge App Icon' 'Show on Lock Screen' are all on. 

  9. Finally, choose either 'Banners' or 'Alerts' under the 'Alert Style When Unlocked.'

All Users 

After turning on or off notifications and location services in your phone settings, make sure that your notifications are also on in the Bacon app itself by following the steps below

  1. Open the Bacon app

  2. Select ‘Account’

  3. Select ‘Notification Settings’

  4. Slide the toggle for ‘Push Notifications’ or ‘Text Notifications’
